You can protect yourself and others from Phishing scams by completing the following steps

Protect yourself by following a few simple rules:

  1.  If you

    suspect your UAlbany Account has been compromised or

    are receiving unexpected

    text messages or Duo notifications, Deny and Reset! If you receive a suspicious email, report it using Phish Alert

    Duo notifications–when you aren't logging in to campus IT services, deny the Duo request and reset your password!

  2.  Use Phish Alert to report any suspicious email messages.


Text Message:

If you receive a SMS Text message from an unknown person any text messages regarding your UAlbany account, DENY the request and RESET your password.

Email:

If you see a suspicious email, REPORT it!


Online Forms: 

Be cautious when filling out online forms and Exercise caution with online forms, especially ones that come in unsolicited email messages. Always confirm the form is from a credible source. If you have completed an online form that you later suspect was may be fraudulent, RESET your password ASAPas soon as possible.
