- ITS will have a limited number of configurations intended to meet the needs of most specialized job functions. These are ordered in batches.
- Exceptions to some peripherals (e.g., monitors) may be approved when they are required by work responsibilities and have the support of the department head.

When refilling state-funded fac/staff positions, the previously assigned computer will generally be reconfigured and re-assigned to new employees if it's less than 5 years old.When filling a new state-funded staff position,ITS will provide a computer.- For research/RF-funded staff positions, the researcher, center, institute, or lab will be responsible for funding a computer.
