When accounts are deactivated, students no longer have access to their albany.edu email address, the messages in that account, electronic files, or any services that require logging in with a NetID and password, with the exception of MyUAlbany. Shortly after deactivation, all information associated with the account is deleted. Please note that deleted files (including email, documents, and web pages) are irretrievable. Students will still be able to access MyUAlbany using their NetID and password.
Student's accounts that were not activated before 2013 will be archived for MyUAlbany access. To gain access call the ITS Service Desk at (518) 442-3700 or submit an online request.
Students returning to the University will automatically have their accounts and access to all University-provided IT services after they have made their initial deposit (matriculated). Files or emails that were previously stored in accounts are irretrievable. To gain access they will need to reset their password.
Students who have graduated or undergraduate students who have been withdrawn academically dismissed from the University will have one year of limited access to IT services, such as email. After one year they will receive an account deactivation notice. Students with ineligible statuses may lose access sooner.
