Issue

If the following message appears on Windows 7 while trying to connect to UAlbanyWiFi:

"Windows can't communicate with the device or resource (Primary DNS Server)"

Resolution

Use the following steps to connect student or staff member.:

1. Go to Start menu and then Control Panel

2. Click on Networking and sharing center and then click on Change adapter settings

3. Right click on Wireless and choose Properties

4. Highlight Internet Protocol Version 6 and click on Properties

5. Check the box that says "Obtain DNS server address automatically" and "Obtain IP address automatically"

6. Repeat the steps for Internet Protocol version 4 as well

7. Then proceed with the necessary steps to set up WiFi
