Faculty-Staff Computer Cyclical Replacements
Cyclical Replacement of Faculty and Staff Workstations
Every year, ITS will work with faculty, staff, and departments to replace computers that have reached end of life. Computers replaced under this project will be replaced as part of the Centralized Funding Model for Computers. All computers must be in compliance with the Policy for University-Owned Computers.
Who is responsible for replacement costs?
Replacement of computers assigned to faculty/staff in campus departments and these RF-funded units will be funded by ITS as part of the Centralized Funding Model for Computers.
Computers for RF-funded staff positions will require an identified funding source.
Computers required for research labs or research grant commitments will require a departmental or research funding source.
What computer will ITS provide?
ITS replaces one workstation bundle per person.
ITS fully supports Dell and Apple Workstation bundle replacements. Please see this link for the specific configurations for Faculty and Staff.
Computer replacement process
ITS uses a centralized inventory to identify computers needing replacement.
ITS will contact you when your machine is eligible for replacement, determine your needs, and schedule a time to facilitate the replacement appointment.
Before your scheduled replacement you should:
Create a list of additional software to be re-installed
Create a list of printers you use
ITS removes and securely disposes of all replaced computers.
