Automatically Map Network Drives in macOS
Action
Once you have mapped your network drive in macOS, you can choose to have that drive be automatically mapped each time you log in. To do this, you will need to move the drive into your startup items:
Instructions
Go to System Preferences > Users & Groups.
On the right side choose Login Items.
Drag the shared drive from your desktop into the the Login Items box:
The next time you log in to your computer your drive should be auto-mounted.
Making share viewable on your desktop
If you want your network drive to show up on your desktop and it is not already, you can change that by following these steps:
Go to Finder > Preferences > General.
Click the check box next to Connected servers.
You should now see your shared drive on the desktop.
