Configuring Mail for OS X for UAlbany Mail

Action

To add your UAlbany Mail account to the Mac Mail app, follow the instructions below.

MacOS 10.14 Mojave and later is required.  If you cannot upgrade to 10.14 or later, you can access your UAlbany Mail in Outlook on the web in a web browser at https://mail.albany.edu. 

Instructions

  1. Open Mail

    1. If you have one or more e-mail accounts added already, click on Mail, then Add Account..., then click + under Accounts

  2. Choose the account type Exchange and click Continue




  3. Enter your name and UAlbany Mail address, then click Sign In

  4. Log in using your NetID and password.

  5. Complete your 2-step authentication using Duo.


  6. If everything works, you will see a screen similar to the one below. Check the boxes for the services you want to synchronize to your Mac and click Done.




  7. Close the mail preferences window. Your mail, contacts, and appointments should automatically begin to download. This process may take several minutes before you see any mail.
