Help with UAlbany Mail Sign-In Problems
Overview
If you cannot log in to UAlbany Mail using Outlook on the web (OWA), you may encounter one of the following error messages. This guide explains what they mean and how to resolve them.
Common Issues and Resolutions
Issue 1: Account Locked
Error Messages:
“Your account has been locked. Contact your support person to unlock it, then try again.”
“It looks like your account has been blocked. Please contact your admin to unlock it.”
“Taking you to your organization's login page.” (Repeats without success)
Resolution:
This issue can often be resolved by visiting the ITS Password Set/Reset page to reset your UAlbany password.
Allow up to 30 minutes for processes to complete and unlock your account.
If the problem persists, contact the ITS Service Desk for assistance.
Issue 2: Access Restricted
Error Messages:
“You cannot access this right now. Your sign-in was successful but does not meet the criteria to access this resource. For example, you might be signing in from a browser, app, or location that is restricted by your admin.”
Resolution:
Submit a request to askit@albany.edu.
Include screenshots of the error message for faster troubleshooting.
Tips
Always verify you are using the correct UAlbany credentials.
If you recently changed your password, wait 30 minutes before retrying.
