Action

You can make your U: Drive available offline in Windows. This will allow you to access your files in your U: Drive even when you are not connected to the network on campus or from off campus, via VPN.  If you modify your files while you are "offline", they will be synchronized back up to the network drive the next time you are connected.

Instructions

1. Open Windows Explorer

2. Right-click on your U: Drive:

3. Select Always available offline:
   
   
   

4. Windows will immediately make a cached copy of your U: Drive, and periodically synchronize updates using Sync Center (accessed via Control Panel / Sync Center) when the network share is available.
