Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN Client Installation (Windows)
Action
To install the GlobalProtect VPN client on a Windows computer, follow the steps below.

Windows 11 is required to install this client. Windows 10 is no longer supported for it.
Open a web browser and go to https://uavpn.albany.edu. JavaScript must be enabled to proceed (instructions can be found on enable-javascript.com).
The standard University log in page should appear in the default browser. Sign in with your University at Albany NetID and password.
Select your preferred method of authenticating with Duo. Check 'Remember me for 30 days' to prevent Duo prompts on that device for 30 days.
Download the appropriate GlobalProtect client for your operating system.

First page of the GlobalProtect setup programClick Next to leave the installation folder as the default location (C:\Program Files\Palo Alto Networks\GlobalProtect), or choose a different folder and then click Next.
Click Close to exit the installation wizard.

Once you have approved your Duo authentication request, you should see a GlobalProtect window stating that you are now connected.
Disconnecting from the VPN
Select the GlobalProtect icon in the notification area at the lower right to bring up the VPN connection window.
Click Disconnect to end the VPN session.
Connecting to the VPN
To open the GlobalProtect VPN client:
Start > Palo Alto Networks > GlobalProtect (folder) > GlobalProtect
When prompted, enter your NetID and password, and click Connect.
The GlobalProtect icon will be minimized in the notification area at the lower right.
