Adding a new Certificate to Windows 7 and Browser

Action

If your computer is running Windows 7, you may need to manually add the following root certificate to avoid getting trust warnings when accessing UAlbany web pages.

Instructions

  1. Please download CA certificates from trusted sources: For the root certificate download the "SHA-2 Root: USERTrust RSA Certification Authority" (Expires Jan 2038) from Salesforce(link is external).


  2. Open the downloaded file from your Downloads folder: SHA-2 Root USERTrust RSA Certification Authority.crt


  3. Click Open to allow the file to open


  4. Click Install Certificate... at the bottom of the box that opens


  5. Select "Current User" and click Next


  6. Select "Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate" and click Next


  7. Click Finish


  8. Click OK and OK to close the two open boxes


  9. You may need to log off and back on to your PC for the certificate to take effect



Windows 7 is no longer supported. Please upgrade to a supported version of Windows when possible.
