Action

To check computers and other devices registered to you in NetReg, the University's wired network access tool, follow the steps below.

Instructions

1. Go to https://netreg.albany.edu and click the green Enter button

2. Enter your NetID and password and click Sign In or OK

3. You will see a table of devices registered to you with details about each device:

   • Hostname: The network name of the device

   • Hardware address: The unique ID assigned to the device's network card. See also Network - Find hardware network (MAC) address.

   • Mode: Static or Dynamic IP address. Static will always have one IP address while Dynamic will change IP address periodically.

   • IP Address: The assigned network address, if the mode is set to Static. See also Network - Find IP address.

   • Subnet: The area in which it is registered, typically a building or floor

     • Devices are allowed to be registered in multiple Subnets

4. To edit a device's details, click on the Hostname link for it.
   To add a device, click the Register New Machine link near the top and follow the steps at Wired Network - Register a Computer in NetReg.
