Batch Scanning - Unity Client

This guide offers instructions on using a scanner to import batches of paper documents in one simple process. If your department has a Multi-Function Printer (MFP),  it can be configured to upload documents into a scan queue within OnBase.

 


Scanning Documents

 

1. From the Unity Client home menu select Batch Scanning, to start scanning batches of files into OnBase Unity Client.

 

2. Scanner attached to your device will appear in the Scan Source drop-down menu. 

 

3. You may need to configure Scan Format setting before using the Scan.

 

4. Ensure that appropriate Scan Queue is selected before Scanning documents (e.g. Grad Scan).

a. Prep and properly place documents into document feeder of your Multi-Function Printer (MFP)

b. Start Scanning documents in batches directly into OnBase once configuration for scanner and scan format has been set.

 

5. Enter Batch Name(e.g., Test) and ensure proper Scan Format is selected, and then Scan.

a. If prompted, some scan queues will create the name automatically

 

6. Make selection for how scanner should bring files in and then click on Scan, if documents have been placed into scanner’s feeder tray.

 

7. Once Scanning process is complete a message will appear with options to perform more action.

 

8. Once batch scanning is complete, documents scanned will open in a new window ready to be reviewed or modified if necessary.

a. Click Go to Batch to navigate to Batch Processing or click Back to navigate back to Batch Scanning.

 

9. When under Batch Processing window, you will find the Scanned documents will appear under the appropriate Scan Queue and/or Index queue(e.g. Grad Scan).

a. You can begin Indexing the documents in the batch via Batch Processing.
