Duo - Trust Browser Option - Instructions
You should only use this feature on personal devices. Check the "Trust Browser" box to reduce the number of notifications you get from Duo. Select this feature in all browsers you use with your personal devices for the most seamless experience. If you use a different computer or browser, or clear your cache and cookies, you will need to verify your identity with Duo.Â
 1. Log into any Duo-protected service and enter your NetID and password.Â
2. You will be prompted to enter the three-digit verification code displayed.Â
3. Your mobile device will now be prompted to enter the above displayed code. Tap on the message and the Duo mobile app will automatically open to enter the code.Â
4. Enter your three-digit code that Duo provided to you (i.e. number 199 as depicted in step two above) into the Duo mobile app and tap 'Verify'. The UAlbany service you are trying to log into will be displayed.
5. Once you have verified the code, you will receive the 'approved' confirmation message on your mobile device.
6. You will be prompted to Trust the browser or not.Â
Be CyberSmart with Your 'Browsers Trust'
NEVER select 'yes, trust browser' on a public or shared device! Â You should only select 'yes, trust browser' if you are using a personal device.
7. Once you have selected to trust the browser or not, Duo will log you into your UAlbany application with a 'success' message.
