Action

To look for messages in Outlook if you don’t see new messages or a specific message, try the following tips.

Instructions

1. Check for sorting or filtering in your inbox: If your Inbox is sorted by something other than Date/newest on top, new messages may not be apparent

2. Look in other folders: Check for the message(s) in each of these folders

   • Inbox

     • Other (tab in Inbox, if you have Focused Inbox enabled)

   • Junk E-Mail

   • Delete Items

   • Archive

3. Search: Use the search function to seek something specific about the message(s) you need, such as the sender’s address or a key/unique word

4. Review rules: look at any rules you may have in place that could be inadvertently moving messages as they come in
