If your Windows computer needed the upgrade last semester, and it missed the opportunity, you may experience multiple reboots or slow logins until the upgrade is completed. This is an automatic process and the installation cannot be stopped.

What you need to know

  • June 3, 2024 - ITS began pushing required Win 11 and Win 10 upgrades to all university owned computers. There will be no way to control when the upgrade occurs.

  • The upgrade will take 60 to 120 minutes.

  • Backup your computer

  • ITS recommends an OS upgrade be performed on the universities physical network (bring remote devices to campus) for the most reliable experience. If attempting to upgrade the OS on a remote device (laptop at home), the device needs to be connected to universities VPN

If you need assistance, please contact the ITS Service Desk.

Automatic upgrades began on June 1

Computers receive the required upgrade automatically. Installation can begin any time and will start without warning. Once started, installation cannot be stopped.
