Attackers use a variety of methods to scam you, including text messaging, email, and electronic forms. Protect yourself by following a few simple rules:

  1.  If you get random requests for Duo verification – when you're not logging into anything – your account has been compromised and someone has your password. Select "I'm not logging in" and reset your password immediately!

  2.  Use Phish Alert to report any suspicious email messages.

Text Message:

If you receive any text messages regarding your UAlbany account, DENY the request and RESET your password.

Email:

If you see a suspicious email, REPORT it!

Online Forms:

Exercise caution with online forms, especially ones that come in unsolicited email messages. Always confirm the form is from a credible source. If you have completed an online form that you suspect may be fraudulent, RESET your password as soon as possible.
