Federated authentication allows members of participating organizations to access each other's online resources without having to create a new account or share their credentials.

The University at Albany is a member of the InCommon Federation, a community of over 1,000 organizations from higher education, research, corporate, federal, and international entities from the U.S., Europe, and around the world. InCommon provides variety of integrated services and software for research and education, including eduroam, the world-wide roaming wireless network developed for and by the research and education community. 

Features:

  • A secure means of trusted access to a wide range of electronic resources from other members of the InCommon Federation
  • Use your NetID and password to access resources of other InCommon member organizations without having create a new account or share personal credentials
