  3. Enter your UAlbany NetID and Password
  4. If prompted, accept/trust the certificate
  5. The connection should complete and reconnect automatically when you are in range of a UAlbanyWiFi signal again

E-mail

UAlbany Mail is part of Microsoft’s Office 365 for Education. If you don’t already know your University e-mail address, it is posted within MyUAlbany.

  2. Choose the type, Exchange or Corporate
  3. Enter your UAlbany e-mail address and your password
  4. The account should set up and may present further options for personalizationcustomization
  5. New messages will be automatically delivered to the device

Security

Never share password information with anyone; it keeps your data and files safe.  You You are responsible for maintaining the security of your computer.  Be sure to have active anti-virus software installed and running, and keep the operating system and other software updated. We have some recommendations of Anti-Virus Software for Personally Owned Equipment available.

Software

Office 365 is available for free via download through UAlbany Mail as long as you are a student at UAlbany. It allows installing a full version of Microsoft Office on your computers and mobile devices.  For details and instructions, please see Office 365 ProPlus Subscription License.

Other software applications are available for purchase by using the Technology Discount links in MyUAlbany.

Printers are available in the IC areas of the Libraries. You can print from the IC computers or your own laptop! For details and instructions, please see UniPrint Services.

While ITS has no general computer requirements, we recommend students purchase an extended warranty or service contract to cover repairs to their computer.

Access to your S Drive, your personal UNIX space with 100MB of storage, is available when you use the IC computers or a personal computer. For instructions to access, please see File Storage - S: Drive.

Training

Free non-credit workshops are available to learn popular software applications including Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), web and design (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver), and more.
