Wi-Fi and Networking

UAlbanyWiFi is the secure wireless service used on campus by students, faculty, and staff.  It authenticates with your NetID and Password, and requires support for the WPA2-Enterprise protocol.

E-mail

UAlbany Mail is part of Microsoft’s Office 365 for Education. If you don’t already know your University e-mail address, it is posted within MyUAlbany.

Security

Never share password information with anyone; it keeps your data and files safe. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your computer.  Be sure to have active anti-virus software installed and running, and keep the operating system and other software updated. We have some recommendations of Anti-Virus Software for Personally Owned Equipment available.

Software

Office 365 is available for free via download through UAlbany Mail as long as you are a student at UAlbany. It allows installing a full version of Microsoft Office on your computers and mobile devices. For details and instructions, please go to visit Office 365 ProPlus Subscription License.

Other software applications are available for purchase by using the Technology Discount links in MyUAlbany.
