Office 365 is available for free via download through UAlbany Mail as long as you are a student at UAlbany. It allows installing a full version of Microsoft Office on your computers and mobile devices.

Other software applications are available for purchase by using the Technology Discount links in posted within the MyUAlbany portal.

Computers and Printing

The Information Commons (IC), located in the three University libraries, has computers with Microsoft Office and academic software.

Printers are available in the IC areas of the Libraries. You can print from the IC computers or your own laptop!

While ITS has no general computer requirements, we recommend students purchase an extended warranty or service contract to cover repairs to their computer or other devices they may bring to campus.

File Storage

Office 365 includes OneDrive for Business, with 1TB of online storage and Office Web Apps to edit or collaborate on documents. For details and instructions, please go to to OneDrive for Business.

Access to your S Drive, your personal UNIX space with 100MB of storage, is available when you use the IC computers or a personal computer. For instructions to access, please go to to File Storage - S: Drive.

Training

Free non-credit workshops are available to learn popular software applications including Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), web and design (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver), and more.
