All university-owned computers, including research funded computers, must be:
- Joined to the UAlbany Windows domain
- Enrolled in AllSight
- macOS computers must be enrolled in Jamf
- Have Microsoft Defender installed
- Be registered in NetReg
ITS uses these tools to efficiently manage your university-owned computer by allowing ITS to deploy patches, the deployment of patches and software and maintain the maintenance of the computer inventory on campus. Ensuring that all computers are patched and running a supported operating system is the first step in maintaining security and is required if a device is connected to the network (Standards for Connecting Devices to the University Network).
