Issue

When attempting to view a CopyLeaks Similarity Report within Brightspace, you may see one of the the below error messagemessages.  Safari and Firefox users are primarily affected, or when using an a private/incognito /private browsing sessiontab.

First things to try

  • Switch to Google Chrome browser.
  • Use a regular, non-private/incognito tab.

Troubleshooting steps

Safari

  1. In the top-right left corner, click Safari → Settings.
  2. Click the Privacy tab.
  3. Uncheck the setting for "Prevent cross-site tracking".
  4. Try loading your Similarity Report again.

Firefox

  1. Open a new tab and navigate to "about:preferences".
  2. Search for "cookies".
  3. Under " Enhanced Tracking Protection" , select " Custom".
  4. In For the " Cookies " settingcategory, select " Cross-site Tracking Cookies".
  5. Try loading your Similarity Report again.
