Upgrade/Update in May to minimize disruption

Update your university-owned machine beginning on May 1, 2024 to minimize disruption to your work. ITS strongly recommends installing the update before leaving campus for the summer. Install this yourself using your computer's Software Center, or contact the ITS Service Desk for assistance.

What happens after June 1, 2024

Computers receive the required update
  • There will be no way to control when the upgrade occurs.

  • The appropriate upgrade will show in your computer's Software Center.

  • The upgrade will take 60 to 120 minutes.

  • Backup your computer

  • ITS recommends an OS upgrade be performed on the universities physical network (bring remote devices to campus) for the most reliable experience. If attempting to upgrade the OS on a remote device (laptop at home), the device needs to be connected to universities VPN
