Action

You can send share a file from OneDrive for Business file as an attachment directly with others from an email message. This is a good way to send large sized files. 

Instructions

  1. Be sure that the file you want to share is uploaded to OneDrive. You do this by dragging and dropping the file from your computer. 
  2. From your email, click Insert, select Attach File,and then select Attach File.
  3. File the file you want to share.
  4. Click Open
  5. Choose Share link or Attach as copy:

    Finish select the file you want to share:

  6. When prompted, choose Share link to generate a link to the file right from your OneDrive space rather than attaching a copy of the file to the email directly:

    Tip

    By default, the sharing link to your file will allow anyone who has this link and a UAlbany Mail account to edit your file.  To choose other options, click Manage access:

    Select the options you prefer. You can change Can edit to Can view, and only allow Recipients of this message to use this link to access the content.  Select Apply to save those changes and finish your email:

  7. Finish composing the email and send it as you normally would.
  8. The recipient(s) will receive the files as links to the content you shared with the access level you selected.
