Action

The instructions below describe how to map an individual's S: Drive on Ubuntu (a version of Linux) operating system.

Instructions

  1. Open File manager
  2. Find the Connect to Server option at the left corner and double click it
  3. Open Files (the file manager)

  4. At left, click "+ Other Locations"

  5. At the bottom of the window, you should now see a "Connect to Server" field

  6. Enter the server address: smb://netID@itsunixnetID@storage.albany.edu
  7. Click connect
  8. A new window will open, asking for login information
    1. Username: Your NetID (this field may not appear)
    2. Domain: UALBANY
    3. Password: Your UAlbany password
  9. Click Connect
Note

Once connected, you will be at the root of the itsunix storage.albany.edu server, not in your S: Drive space. We need to determine if this negates the public utility, but is still interesting.
