Issue

When attempting to view a CopyLeaks Similarity Report within Brightspace, you may see the below error message.  Safari and Firefox users are primarily affected, or when using an incognito/private browsing session.

First things to try

Switch to Google Chrome browser and/or a non-private/incognito window.

Troubleshooting steps

Safari

  1. In the top-right corner, click Safari → Settings.
  2. Click the Privacy tab.
  3. Uncheck the setting for "Prevent cross-site tracking".
  4. Try loading your Similarity Report again.

Firefox

  1. Open a new tab and navigate to "about:preferences".
  2. Search for "cookies".
  3. Under "Enhanced Tracking Protection" select "Custom".
  4. In the "Cookies" setting, select "Cross-site Tracking Cookies".
  5. Try loading your Similarity Report again.
