2-Step with Duo provides an additional layer of protection to your UAlbany account by requiring you to confirm your identity with a verified Duo push when logging into campus IT services. This helps ensure you are the only person who can access your account, even if someone steals your password. It also helps secure the University's electronic resources, so using 2-Step with Duo is required to access protected services.
Step 1: Get Started - Enroll in 2-Step with Duo. First, download the free Duo Mobile app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Unable to access campus IT services? You may need to Complete Your Duo Enrollment.
Step 2: Follow these simple steps to authenticate to campus IT services:
- Login to campus IT services with your NetID and password
- Receive a Duo notification using your choice of Duo Authentication Methods
Don't have a Smartphone or not using the app? Contact the ITS Service Desk. We'll give you a Hardware Token that can be used to access all campus IT services.
Make 2-Step with Duo as mobile as you are
Make things easy on yourself. Choose Trust this browser on a trusted personal device to minimize the number of times you need to complete the full login process.
Don't be a victim! Never provide the Duo verification code to anyone!
If you get random requests for Duo verification – when you're not logging into anything – your account has been compromised and someone has your password. Select "I'm not logging in" and reset your password immediately!
