Personal Website

  • URL: https://www.albany.edu/~NetID

  • Available to: Faculty, staff, and students to support teaching and learning related activities

  • Size/Quota: 200 MB

  • Discontinued: automatically when owners leave the University

  • Creating a Personal website

Faculty Website

  • URL: https://www.albany.edu/faculty/~NetID or https://www.albany.edu/faculty/<specially-requested-name>

  • Faculty are provided other file storage options and options to provide materials to students: Brightspace and Individual File Storage Options, for example.

  • ITS provides web hosting only—the website owner is responsible for development, management, and design of the hosted website. Available to: Faculty

  • Size/Quota: 100 MB--Faculty websites that require increases in size should be hosted in other offerings. These spaces are not meant to host files or other content that should be stored in other Individual File Storage Options which are already expansive and larger

  • How to request: ITS Service Desk Ticket

  • Discontinued: automatically purged when faculty leave UAlbany

Department Websites

  • URL:  https://www.albany.edu/<specially-requested-name>

  • Available to: Departments, must have a designated owner

  • Size/Quota: none

  • How to request: ITS Service Desk ticket

  • Discontinued when designated owner requests or when no activity 2+ years

Research Websites

  • URL:  https://www.albany.edu/<specially-requested-name>

  • Available: primarily for faculty labs

  • Size/Quota: 100 MB

  • How to request: ITS Service Desk Ticket

  • Discontinued when designated owner requests or site has been inactive for 2+ years
