All university-owned computers, including research funded computers, must be:
- Joined to the UAlbany Windows domain
- Enrolled in AllSight
- macOS computers must be enrolled in Jamf
- Have Microsoft Defender installed
- Be registered in NetReg
ITS uses these tools to efficiently manage your university-owned computer by allowing the deployment of patches and software and the maintenance of the computer inventory on campus. Ensuring that all computers are patched and running a supported operating system is the first step in maintaining security and is required if a device is connected to the network (Standards for Connecting Devices to the University Network).
