Incoming messages with executable files attached (directly or within an archive file) will be assigned an SCL of 5 and so sent to your Junk E-mail folder. |
If you have Outlook installed on your computer and are using Outlook to read your mail, then there is additional spam filtering activity performed by Outlook on your computer - not the UAlbany Mail system. When Outlook is running, it will also use its own spam filtering guidelines and move some mail into your Junk E-mail folder even if the UAlbany Mail system delivered the message to your Inbox. Since Outlook may sometimes behave more aggressively than UAlbany Mail in moving mail to the Junk E-mail folder, be sure to check that folder regularly.
