Q: How do I send a job to a printer?

A: There are two ways to send a job to print:

  1. Send a Print Job to a Student Printerfrom an Information Commons Computer from any Information Commons computer.
  2. Follow these instructions to upload documents and Print From Pharos Cloudprint.albany.edu.

Q: How do I release print jobs at a printer?

A: There are three ways to release a print job at a printer:

  1. Print with Your Student Printing Passcode.
  2. Register and Print with Your UAlbany ID Card. After you have register your UAlbany ID Card the first time, simply swipe your ID Card to print. Note that your UAlbany ID Card only works with B&W printers.
  3. Print with the Pharos Secure Mobile Release App.

Q: Can I install Pharos Secure Printer on my personal computer?

A: Yes. Follow these instructions to Install Pharos Secure Printer on your PC or mac. 

Q: Can I print to a color printer using my UAlbany ID Card?

A: Approximately 20% 8% of UAlbany ID Cards contain special characters that prevent them from working with color printers. If your UAlbany ID Card will not release a color print job, Print with Your Student Printing Passcode or DRAFT Print with Pharos Secure Release Mobile App instead. All UAlbany ID Cards work with B&W printers.
