If a computer lacks the proper root certificates, it will not trust the certificate used to identify UAlbany WiFi networks, causing the connection to fail.

Windows

Check if USERTrust RSA CA Certification Authority is installed by taking the following steps:

  1. Search for and open "Manage Computer Certificates" in Start menu
  2. Navigate to "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" > "Certificates"
  3. Look for the USERTrust RSA CA Certification Authority certificate in the list


Devices with supported operating systems usually have their certificate stores automatically updated.

Devices whose operating systems are no longer supported may have outdated certificate stores, so may need to be set to ignore the certificate or manually install it.
