If the sender of an email wishes to recall a sent message the following steps will show how:

1. Open Outlook

2. Left click on the "Sent Items" subfolder

3. Double click on the email in question so that the email opens in its own window.

4. Left click on "Actions" in the options at the top of the email window

5. Expand the Actions list to it's full size by clicking on the arrow icon at the bottom of the subdirectory

6. Select "Recall this Message"-

the sent message then will be returned to sender.

Please Note: This option only works for messages sent between Exchange Account, and will not have any effect on messages sent to other mail systems including the Unix/Webmail environment. So, if the message was sent to  xxxxx@Albany.edu. the great likelihood will be that message will not be recoverable
