CopyLeaks Similarity Report Unauthorized Access

Issue

When attempting to view a CopyLeaks Similarity Report within Brightspace, you may see one of the the below error messages.  Safari and Firefox users are primarily affected, or when using a private/incognito browsing tab.

First things to try

  • Switch to Google Chrome browser.

  • Use a regular, non-private/incognito tab.

Troubleshooting steps

Safari

  1. In the top-left corner, click Safari → Settings.

  2. Click the Privacy tab.

  3. Uncheck the setting for "Prevent cross-site tracking".

  4. Try loading your Similarity Report again.

Firefox

  1. Open a new tab and navigate to "about:preferences".

  2. Search for "cookies".

  3. Under Enhanced Tracking Protection, select Custom.

  4. For the Cookies category, select Cross-site Tracking Cookies.

  5. Try loading your Similarity Report again.
