zArchive - DRAFT Windows 11

Microsoft recently released Windows 11, their latest operating system. Support for Windows 10 ends in October 2025; all university-owned computers must upgrade to Windows 11 by this time. Starting INSERT DATE, faculty and staff can upgrade at their convenience.

The update most compatible with your computer will appear automatically in Software Center. You will be prompted to install either Windows 11 22H2 Enterprise or Windows 10 Enterprise 22H2. If both updates are listed, please contact the ITS Service Desk.

Install Windows 11 Enterprise 23H2

  • Click on the search box on the bottom left of the screen and begin typing Software Center.

  • Select the Software Center App.

  • Select Operating Systems.

  • Select Windows 11 Upgrade

  • Select the Install button.

  • Click Install again to confirm the upgrade to Windows 11.

Install Windows 10 Enterprise  22H2

  • Click on the search box on the bottom left of the screen and begin typing Software Center.

  • Select the Software Center App.

  • Select Operating Systems.

  • Select Windows 10 Upgrade.

  • Select the Install button.

  • Click Install again to confirm the upgrade to Windows 10.

Install the Appropriate Windows Update

  • Click on the search box on the bottom left of the screen and begin typing Software Center.

  • Select the Software Center App.

  • Select Operating Systems.

  • Select Windows 11 Upgrade or Windows 10 Upgrade. If both updates are listed, contact the ITS Service Desk.

  • Select the Install button.

  • Click Install again to confirm the upgrade.

Installing the update will take 1-2 hours. Your computer will be unavailable until it completes. Please plan accordingly.
