Retrieving Data from the A100 DGX Cloud Cluster

The A100 DGX Cloud cluster was decommissioned on February 14, 2025. Prior to this date, multiple communications were sent to users regarding the importance of backing up their data before the sunset date. Information Technology Services (ITS) proactively performed selective backups for some users who did not respond to the decommissioning communications, primarily focusing on recently active users of the cluster. However, please note that backup coverage is limited and not guaranteed for all user data.

How to Request Data Recovery

If you need to retrieve data that you did not back up personally:

  1. Send an email to askIT@albany.edu (Subject Line: A100 DGX Cloud Data Recovery Request)

  2. Include in your request:

    • The specific workspace name(s) and/or dataset name(s)

    • Any relevant identifiers that could help locate your data

Important Notes

  • Data recovery is contingent upon whether ITS has successfully backed up your specific files

  • Requests will be processed on a case-by-case basis

  • Recovery time may vary depending on the size and complexity of the data requested
