Background
Most University-owned computers are currently running Windows 10 which reaches end of life in October of 2025. This means that Microsoft will no longer provide security updates after October 2025. Any computers running Windows 11 after that date will present a security risk to the rest of the campus.
There are many computers at the university that do not have the necessary hardware to run Windows 11. These computers must be replaced before the Fall 2025 semester. All university-owned computers need to be updated to Windows 11 by August 2025.
