Registrar-Scheduled Classrooms
Registrar-scheduled classrooms fall into one of the following categories:
Computer Classrooms
In addition to an instructor computer at the lectern, provide a computer for each student. The instructor's computer is connected to a data projector controlled by either a touch panel or a control panel for easy selection of audio visual sources. Each computer has internet access and a suite of software, The instructor's lectern also contains a laptop connection. Some rooms have a document camera at the lectern. The instructor does have some ability to share files with the students through established collaborative methods.
Smart Classrooms
Identified by the existence of a touch panel which is generally used to turn on the data projector, select the audio visual sources and control their volume. In some cases, the touch panel controls the operation of the projection screen and the room lighting. Each room is equipped with a computer with internet access and a suite of software, data projector, document camera, and a laptop connection.
Standard IT Classrooms
Operated by a lighted control panel which is generally used to select the audio visual sources and control their volume. These rooms do not have an installed document camera, but one can be requested by calling the ITS Service Desk at (518) 442-3700 or by email askit@albany.edu. They can be hooked up to the classroom's projector via the laptop connection on the control panel.  Each room is equipped with a computer with internet access and a suite of software, data projector, and a laptop connection.
Web Conference Capable Rooms
A combination of the above classroom types, plus they are equipped with one or more web cameras and microphones for use with web conferencing applications like Zoom.
Device Ready Rooms
Classrooms with only a data projector, a VGA cable and a laptop connection. The instructor must bring their own laptop.
