Finding the Age of Your Computer

As part of the Centralized Funding Model for Computers, ITS will replace computers every 6 years.  We recommend that researchers and self-supporting centers,

institutes and labs also replace computers on a planned replacement cycle to ensure they are in compliance with

Check the age of a computer from its manufacturer's support website using its service tag or serial number:

• Dell status lookup

• Apple status lookup

If you are unable to find the age or would like to review a computer in more detail, contact the ITS Service Desk and include details about the computer in question.
