Getting started with your new University-provided Windows laptop

  1. Turn on your computer by pressing the power button, it will generally be marked with
  2. Once Windows has loaded to the lockscreen, press Ctrl+Alt+Del on your keyboard to unlock
  3. Click OK to accept the terms of use
  4. Click the wireframe globe in the bottom right corner
  5. Click UAlbanyWiFi

  6. Click Connect
  7. Enter your NetID and password in the fields marked User name and Password and click OK
  8. Click Connect when prompted to Continue connecting?

  9. Once UAlbanyWiFi shows as Connected, enter your NetID and password in the User name and Password fields under Other User and click the arrow to sign in
  10. If everything was done correctly, your account will now be created by Windows, which can take a few minutes
  11. Once you reach the desktop, you will get a pop-up asking for your NetID and Password, this is the GlobalProtect Login window and you generally do not need to sign in here unless you are off campus
