Web Browser - Allow pop-ups for UAlbany web applications
Action
Web browsers have tools to turn on or off text windows called "pop-ups". When visiting unfamiliar web pages, it is a precautionary measure to block pop-up windows as they could be used to display annoying ads or possibly impose a security risk. However, on trusted sites, you may need to allow pop-ups in order to access the full functionality of the site.
If you enable the pop-up blocker in your browser, we recommend adding UAlbany sites (*.albany.edu) as "trusted or accepted" sites. Several UAlbany web applications (MyUAlbany, Blackboard, and IAS) require the use of pop-up windows.
Most browsers show a prompt to allow pop-ups one time or any time in the future for a site when one is blocked, but some block them silently and require manually changing settings.
