Action

The following instructions are provided to enable the download and installation of Kali Linux in BB-132 (School of Business Accounting lab) to support the needs of some Accounting courses.

Instructions

1. In Windows search field, type “Store”  and the following prompt will display.
2. Click Microsoft Store
   
   
   
   
3. In the Microsoft Store search field type “Kali Linux”
4. Click the Kali Linux App in the displayed results.
   
   
   
   

5. Click Get
   
   
   
   Note: If Kali Linux has been previously downloaded to the computer, you don't need to "Get" the app. 
   In that case you'll be prompted with the following:

    View Image...

   

   Close the Sign-in pop-up to proceed with installation for your profile.

   
   
   
   

6. If prompted to use across your devices, click No thanks.
   
   
   
7. Click Install
   
   
   
8. When installation is complete, click Launch
   
   
   
9. When prompted, create a Kali Linux username and password for your profile on this computer.
   Note: This account applies only to the computer on which it is created.
   
   
   
   
10. Kali Linux will then be read to use.
    
    
    
    
11. To launch Kali Linux on subsequent sessions on the same computer, type Kali Linux in the Windows search field.
    
    
    Note: Kali Linux will only be available on computers on which you have installed it to your profile. 
    If you work at a computer where you have not installed the app with your Windows profile, you'll need to complete the download/installation on the new computer.
