Using the Webserver

There are three folders in \\Lincoln\Library\SPEwww that serve out to the web.

\\Lincoln\Library\SPEwww\patron

  • This is for providing large files to outside patrons.

  • Only place .zip files in this folder

  • Files will be available at https://archives.albany.edu/patron/...

  • Example: https://archives.albany.edu/patron/requestName.zip

  • Files placed here will be moved to the \expired sub directory after 10 Days.

    • After 20 days they will be deleted

  • If you do not use a .zip file, it will not reset the timestamps and the files will be moved to expired and possibly removed the first night

\\Lincoln\Library\SPEwww\static

This is the folder we will use to serve general content to the web. Everything in this folder will serve to the live web at https://archives.albany.edu/static/...

There are a few subfolders here to keep things organized:

  • exhibits

    • These are old html exhibit sites that we are still linking to from Drupal

  • forms

    • PDF forms, like the permission to publish form

  • legacy

    • This contains legacy description that is not yet in ArchivesSpace (Marcia Brown and Karl Paetel)

  • web

    • Additional files to support the website

\\Lincoln\Library\SPEwww\browse

This contains the static browse pages that are generated each night from ArchivesSpace.

You shouldn't have to use or edit anything in this folder unless there are issues.

Loose files in \\Lincoln\Library\SPEwww will not serve

\\Romeo\wwwroot still exists for now, but does not serve

Please clean up any files here that you know are no longer necessary.
