Renewing your SPSS License

Once you have received an updated authorization code for your installation of SPSS from ITS, the instructions on this page will assist you in getting SPSS re-activated.

  • After opening SPSS 28, Select the Manage License option from the File Menu

  • Select Launch License Wizard in the window that opens.  You must be an administrator on your computer to run the License Wizard.  If you do not have administrator level access on your computer please contact the ITS here to request assistance in authorization your installation of SPSS.

  • Click Next in the License Status Windows that opens.  Note that the information shown in this window may be different depending on the current licensed status of SPSS.

  • Make sure the radio button for the Authorized user license option is selected, then click Next.

  • Add the code provided to you by ITS for your version of SPSS in the Enter Code: text box.  Make sure there are no extra spaces before or after the code otherwise the process will fail.

  • Click the Add button and your code will be added box below, then click Next.

  • The license authorization process will now start.  Once complete, click Next.

  • The Licensing Completed window will open showing all SPSS components that are available and the expiration date of the license.  Click Finish.

  • A window will open informing you that SPSS needs to restart to apply the new license.  Click Restart and the process will be complete.
