Unity Client Installation

This guide offers instructions and overview of the process to get OnBase Unity Client installed onto a users workstation. In order for a user to access OnBase user needs "Hyland Unity Client" and "Hyland OnBase Unity Configuration File" packages installed on their workstation. It's important to note that this step is necessary, only, after user has gone through the appropriate process of Requesting Access to OnBase  and once ITS has confirmed the file's readiness for installation. If ITS has not yet confirmed the file's readiness for installation, please submit a ticket.






Unity Client Installation

Before users can use OnBase they must Request Access. The Unity Client Installation process involves installing two files: the "Hyland Unity Client" and the "Hyland OnBase Unity Configuration File" on the user's workstation. For the installation process please follow the steps below. Please note that if a user has been granted access to OnBase but does not have the Unity Client installed on their workstation, they can complete this form and select "I need to add a new device."



Confirm or Install "Hyland Unity Client"



1. Check if the "Hyland Unity Client" package has been automatically installed on users workstation.

a. Navigate to the Windows Bar in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.

b. Type “software center” into the search box.

c. Click on Open to launch the software center.



2. The software center will open:

a. Look for a package named "Hyland Unity Client" You can use the search bar to find it.

b. Once you've located the “Hyland Unity Client” package, click on it to view its information.





c. If "Hyland Unity Client" is already installed, you will see the option to uninstall the client



d. If the "Hyland Unity Client" has not been installed, you will see the option to install, proceed with the installation.

e. If you do not see the "Hyland Unity Client" package listed in the software center, please submit a ticket.




Install "Hyland OnBase Unity Configuration File"



1. The "Hyland OnBase Unity Configuration File" requires manual installation:

a. Open the software center.

2. The software center will open:

a. Look for a package available for installation titled "Hyland OnBase Unity Configuration File"

b. Once you've located the “Hyland OnBase Unity Configuration File” package, click on it to view its information.



c. If the “Hyland OnBase Unity Configuration File” has not been installed, proceed with the installation the client.



d. If user does not see “Hyland OnBase Unity Configuration File” package listed in software center please submit a ticket.
