Personal OneDrive account
As of June 20, 2013, your personal OneDrive is not a service provided or supported by UAlbany, and it is no longer affiliated with your UAlbany Mail account in any way.
About the Service
OneDrive is 5 GB of personal file storage that was originally provided by Microsoft as part of the UAlbany Mail service. As of June 20, 2013, your personal OneDrive is no longer affiliated with UAlbany Mail. It was converted into a personal Microsoft account for you and is not managed by the University.
Storage of University Documents
If you have files containing regulated or sensitive personal information, the most appropriate places to save such files are in your OneDrive for Business space, Microsoft Teams, Departmental folders (V: drive) in your divisional file space, or in your Home Folder (U: drive). Please see this chart for storage requirements covering various protected data types.
For security purposes, ITS strongly recommends changing your personal Microsoft account (OneDrive) password now that it has been separated from your UAlbany Mail account.
If you would prefer not to have two different Microsoft accounts associated your albany.edu email address, ITS recommends changing the email address associated with your personal Microsoft account to avoid confusion. You may also close the personal Microsoft account if you do not need it.
