OneDrive for Business Summary Overview

What is it?

  • 1TB of personal file space "in the cloud".

  • Can be used to share your files with others within and outside the University.

How do I get to it?

  • Upload, view and edit files using any web browser on any computer.  livealbany.onedrive.com 

  • Install the OneDrive app and the Microsoft Office apps on any mobile device.

How do I use it?

  • Create new files or folders or upload existing files including those in your home folder (not Outlook archive .pst files).

  • Microsoft Office lets you create, edit and save files directly to your OneDrive for Business space.

  • Use the OneDrive for Business sync client on your Windows computer if you want to avoid the web interface.

How do I share files or folders?

  • Select a file or folder and click Share. Enter a fac/staff/student name or anyone's email address. Very simple.

  • Use the web or the app, and click "Shared with me" to easily find docs shared with you.

How do I get personalized help?

  • Submit an ITS Service Desk request, and we'll come to you to help setup your workstation, laptop, tablet and phone.
