Sync Shared OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams Libraries to Your Computer

Sync Shared OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams Libraries to Your Computer

Action

You can sync content that has been shared with you from:

  • Shared folders from another person's OneDrive for Business

  • A SharePoint document library

  • A Microsoft 365 Group or Microsoft Team document library

Syncing these libraries to your computer allows you to work with shared files directly from Windows Explorer and open or save files from any application installed on your computer. Changes made on your computer are automatically synchronized with the cloud when your device is connected to the internet.

Only files and folders that have been shared with you will be available to sync. Depending on how the content owner has configured sharing, this may include folders that have been shared broadly with members of the University.

Note: Some long-standing OneDrive accounts may contain a legacy "Shared with Everyone" folder that was automatically created by Microsoft in the past. If such a folder exists and is still shared appropriately, its contents may also be available to sync.
