Login error - Request entity too large

Issue

Occasionally, when logging in to MyUAlbany or other UAlbany online services, you may receive an error that the request, entity, or header field was too large, preventing you from logging in.

Sample error messages:

  • Error 413

  • Request entity too large
     

  • Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand

  • Size of a request header field exceeds server limit

Cause

These error messages usually indicate an issue with cached (saved) versions of the MyUAlbany and other login pages in your browser, which make the login request incoherent for processing.

Resolution

Removing the corrupted copies of pages, then downloading fresh ones usually allows successful login.
